My Story
I have been a nurse for 35 years and in the healthcare industry since I was 16. I love being a nurse. When I turned 50, I decided it was time to chase the dream of writing a book. It took me 2 1/2 years and a panic attack, but I self-published my first novel, Home Cries the Soul in January 2024. And it wasn't terrible. Terrifying, maybe, but not terrible. In fact, I loved it. All of it. The writing, the designing, the marketing, the selling. I have met amazing people, and it still surprises me that I have readers! I am now four books in and actively working on my fifth. I like to write about small southern towns. I love the southern culture, food, and families. I find them unique and interesting. I hope my readers do to.
In my spare time, when I'm not working as a nurse, or writing. I teach and practice yoga, make jam, bake cakes, and play with my grandchildren. Oh, and I almost forgot my chickens! We have about 20 laying hens, all different kinds. They make me smile with their constant raking, chicken laying songs, and fluffy bottoms! Their hen house is right outside my office window. They keep me company while I work.
